Many people would like to say as much about their business as possible through the Logo Design but this can cause problems if you try to communicate too much through a logo. Simplicity usually works best when it comes to logos because a logo is not the same as a graphic in that a logo needs to be very versatile and work in a range of different situations and sizes from business cards to corporate signs and from websites to vehicle graphics.

Logos that contain a lot of detail can also loose their clarity and being easily recognisable and understood is an important function for a logo design.

The above example shows how unnecessary elements have been added to the first logo which causes the logo to be a little busy and loose some of its clarity. The tiny detailed elements within the ‘O’s may also cause problems if the logo needed to be printed at a very small size, for example on a business card. The second logo does not feature the unnecessary elements and so the design is clear and will reproduce well even at small sizes.
